TRACK is a digital hiking system that combines an app, a wearable safety device (ALINA), and a backend platform to merge immersive audio experiences with proactive safety while being independent of mobile coverage. The TRACK app acts as a hands-free audio guide that plays curated content triggered by GNSS signals, while the ALINA device provides precise and robust positioning using the Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS), predictive location estimation in case of signal loss, and automatic emergency detection. Within incubation, the focus lies on the ALINA device: building and testing hardware prototypes (alpha to market-ready), integrating Galileo HAS, and ensuring seamless interaction between app, device and backend including CE preparation. The predictive algorithms that enable trajectory modelling and fall detection are developed separately under the ALINA Core R&D project and only integrated into the device. TRACK addresses hikers, destinations, and rescue organisations seeking safer and more sustainable outdoor experiences. By bringing sub-metre Galileo HAS precision to consumer-grade equipment, TRACK demonstrates a clear downstream use of space technology, turning satellite accuracy and resilience into tangible value on the trail.
